Whitney Houston and Dana Bash

Whitney Elizabeth Houston, born 9 August 1963, to an incredibly musical family from Newark New Jersey is the daughter of the gospel singers Cissy Houston as well as John Russell Houston Jr. Also, she is the sister of the singer Dionne Warwick. In her early years she performed in the New Hope Baptist Church choir in Newark. At the age of she was fifteen, Houston was singing professionally as a backing vocalist with her mother in Chaka Khan's song from 1978 Im Every Woman. It allowed her to achieve seven US charts-topping singles in a row, a feat that was more than the Beatles. The album sold US 3,000,000 copies and then went to 25,000,000 world-wide. This gave her the first of the six Grammy Awards she has won. Whitney, her album Whitney which came out in 1987 and featuring the hit songs What Do Broken Hearts go? and I Wanna Dance With Somebody, was a follow-up to her success from. But it is The Bodyguard (1996) that cemented her position as one of music's best sellers. Although her performance in the film and its soundtrack were not appreciated but her Dolly Parton cover I Will Always Love You and the album accompanying it were top of the charts around the globe for months. In the same year, she got married to ex-New Edition singer Bobby Brown with whom she had her only child their child Bobbi Kristina Brown, born in March 1993.
